Blogging Buddies around the Globe – Update #3

Yes boys and girls…time for another reminder about my quest to link with a follower in every state and country across the globe. I almost gave up on my quest a while back when I felt myself stumbling, but the overwhelming positive response I received convinced me to stick with this until the very end…no matter how long it takes! And I am now SOOOOOO close to one of those goals, I can almost taste it. And what I’m tasting is some Mississippi BBQ and West Virginia Pumpkin Pie, because those are the only two states I don’t have represented. (I’m only using locations where people are currently located…no switch-hitters)

As far as the countries go, it’s still easier to just list the ones I DO HAVE (22 of them):

Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, England, Ecuador, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Serbia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, and United States.

Somebody once asked me why I just didn’t check the profiles of my followers and make note of their locations, or utilize Google Analytics to get the information that way. Surely I have each of the fifty states covered with my 477 followers? I could do that, but I wanted this to be interactive, with active participation. Therefore, I’m only counting the ‘Like Minded’ that post a comment, or e-mailed me directly. To date I’ve heard from 120 of you.

If you’re a follower and currently live in Mississippi or West Virginia, or one of the countries NOT listed above, please leave a comment on my original post here and be counted. If you know a blogger, or a blog reader, who resides in one of these areas, please give them a nudge in my direction.

Enjoy the rest of your week! :)

  3. Wow, stud... *snort*

Actually, I can't believe you don't have anyone in Miss. You're in Ark AND you went to LSU... !

However, MS does tend to be a bit... what's the word...? ;p

  4. I *used* to reside in Iraq. You could count that in your quest in a round about way. :P

  5. I see you've already got Azebaijan. I was going to suggest Ted until I saw that. Do you have Dezmond from Hollywood Spy? He lives in Eastern Europe somewhere.

  8. Sorry, I'm in a state you already have. But good luck getting all 50. (Why do I feel like I'm about to reference Pokemon? Gotta catch 'em all..) I'm sure there are some Like Minded folks in West Virginia and Mississippi.

  13. I don't know if I'm sorry, but I don't know any bloggers in those states! This is a worthy goal and I am very interested in finding out where my followers are across the globe.

  14. I'm guessing I'm the one from Malaysia....you're doing well to go only on direct interaction...Google Analytics can be misleading, because I log on from all sorts of countries when I'm travelling.

Hope you find the two last states soon.

  19. I sat next to a man on the plane last night that listed all the countries he's been to for his work. I was impressed! Wonder if he blogs...although, he lives in NY state. Forget I mentioned him. :D

Good luck, DL. You'll get those last two states, I'm sure of it!

  21. Ted from Azerbaijan here. Thanks again for the contest and the gift card! It was very nice of you. I need to plan something like that in the near future. I was thinking of something like a Blood & Gore Fest, since I have so many battle scenes in my book. It would probably not appeal as widely to everyone, though!

  22. Very cool! I'll see if I find anyone on my blogging today.

  23. It's a great idea. Funny, I'm following this blog but it's never shown up in my reader. I completely forgot about it until I saw your note in my spam folder.

Sorry I don't know anyone in those states to help with your goal.

  26. Sorry I don't live in the USA. I have relatives and friends there but not where you are looking. However I can claim to live in England's Lake District — beautiful Cumbria, land of artists, poets and writers. One might also add — tourists from all over the world. My brother (he died three years ago) said that England's Lake District has all that is beautiful in the USA but on a miniature scale. Certainly you can cover a whole chunk of it in a day's scenic ride. (It also happens to be the setting for my latest book)
I admire you writers who put so much into drawing people into your blogs. Me? I'm much too lazy! I simply write for the joy of it.
